About the Presenters
Jason Willoughby is the Director of Action Learning Systems. Action Learning Systems is a national educational consultant company that partners with districts and schools to increase student achievement and close the achievement gap. Jason is an award-winning elementary and secondary school teacher, and secondary school administrator. At Action Learning Systems, Jason coaches teachers, principals, and district administration in all aspects of school reform, including system-wide development, implementation, and analysis of standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessments.
Kelly Smith is Vice President of Action Learning Systems. She is a leader in assessment development and has served in leadership positions in multiple state assessment programs such as the Golden State Exams, California Learning Assessment System, and the California Assessment Program. As a teacher, curriculum specialist, and leader with Action Learning Systems, Kelly has developed curriculum, designed and trained on multiple professional development projects, and served as a model for instructional practice.
